VIDEO: Holders of Re-Sold Tickets Being Denied Entry To HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD

While, as reported by BroadwayWorld, New York's lawmakers attempt to control the extremely high prices of Broadway tickets that are resold by scalpers or on secondary market websites, the producers of the West End hit HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD, Parts I & II have come up with their own solution.

The BBC reports that staff at London's Palace Theatre has been instructed to deny entry to holders of tickets that have been resold. Only those bought through the play's two official ticketing platforms, Nimax and ATG, are permitted.

Face value seats costing up to £70 have been offered on secondary market websites for as much as £6,200.

A statement from producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender reads, "Our priority is to protect all our customers and [we] are doing all we can to combat this issue. From the outset, accessible pricing has been of paramount importance to us."

About 60 people have been turned away from the theatre after their tickets were identified as resold.
