Hannah Waterman, star of EastEnders and winner with Marti Pellow of BBC's Just The Two Of Us, will star as Miss July in CALENDAR GIRLS at the Noël Coward Theatre in the West End from Tuesday 1 December.
She will join Kelly Brook (‘Celia - Miss September'), Janie Dee (‘Annie - Miss February'), Helen Lederer (‘Marie', leader of the Yorkshire branch of the WI), Rosalind Knight (‘Jessie - Miss January'), Debbie Chazen (‘Ruth - Miss November'), Arabella Weir (‘Chris - Miss October'), Jan Leeming (‘Lady Cravenshire') and Carl Prekopp (‘Lawrence' the photographer).
Hannah Waterman will be playing the role in place of Julie Goodyear. She plays the role until 9 January when "CALENDAR GIRLS" finishes its scheduled run in the West End, prior to a national tour in which Hannah Waterman will appear later in 2010.
"CALENDAR GIRLS", which donates their normal £1.50 booking fee on each ticket sold to Leukaemia Research, has now raised in excess of £150,000 for the fund by this means together with a percentage of merchandise sales and royalties. The play, which opened at the Noël Coward Theatre on 4 April this year, will continue to raise money for the fund as long as the show plays in the West End.
"CALENDAR GIRLS", the new stage play by Tim Firth adapted from the screenplay he wrote for the 2003 film, is continuing to do smash hit business. "CALENDAR GIRLS" is directed by Hamish McColl, who won an Olivier Award for writing and performing "The Play What I Wrote" in the West End. "CALENDAR GIRLS" has a set by Robert Jones, with lighting by Malcolm Rippeth, costumes by Emma Williams and music by Steve Parry.
