The Old Vic today announced its programme through to spring 2013, which includes Brian Friel's adaptation of HEDDA GABLER starring Sheridan Smith, and KISS ME KATE directed by Trevor Nunn.
Brian Friel’s adaptation of Ibsen’s seminal work, Hedda Gabler will open on 12 September. Directed by Anna Mackmin, this major new production will star Olivier award-winning actress Sheridan Smith in the title role, with Buffy Davis, Anne Reid, Adrian Scarborough and Fenella Woolgar. Following this will be Kiss Me Kate, a co-production with Chichester Festival Theatre. Directed by Trevor Nunn with choreography by Stephen Mear, Cole Porter’s multi-award-winning musical will open on 27 June in Chichester and 3 December at The Old Vic with a cast that includes Alex Bourne, David Burt, Adam Garcia, Clive Rowe and Hannah Waddingham.
