The National Theatre's acclaimed production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is based on Mark Haddon's award-winning novel, adapted by Simon Stephens and directed by Marianne Elliott. The production won 7 Olivier Awards, including Best Play, in 2013. It transferred to London's West End following a sold-out run at the National's Cottesloe Theatre in 2012. The play recently announced it will make its Broadway debut this fall at the Barrymore Theatre.
In CURIOUS INCIDENT, Christopher, fifteen years old, has an extraordinary brain - exceptional at math while ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. When he falls under suspicion of killing Mrs. Shears' dog Wellington, he records each fact about the event in the book he is writing to solve the mystery of the murder. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a frightening journey that upturns his world.
Also in the cast are Sarah Woodward, Daniel Casey and Victoria Willing. The production is designed by three-time Olivier Award-winner Bunny Christie, with lighting by Tony Award-winner PauleConstable, video design by Finn Ross, movement by Scott Graham and Olivier Award-winner Steven Hoggett for FranticAssembly, music by Adrian Sutton and sound by Ian Dickinson for Autograph.
Butler is set to appear in the upcoming Neal Street Production of Penny Dreadful on Sky TV.
