Full Cast Announced for IMOGEN at Shakespeare's Globe

Shakespeare's Globe has announced full casting for Matthew Dunster's production of IMOGEN. Award-winning actor Maddy Hill, in the lead role of Imogen, is best known for the recurring role of Nancy Carter in EastEnders (BBC), for which she won Best Newcomer at the National Television Awards in 2015, and Best Newcomer in the British Soap Awards 2014, as well as being nominated for Best Newcomer at the TV Choice Awards 2014. Maddy will be joined by Jonathan McGuinness as Cymbeline, Ira Mandela Siobhan as Posthumus and Matthew Needham as Iachimo. Running from 17 September, Imogen is Shakespeare's Cymbeline renamed and reclaimed.

Jonathan McGuinness will play Cymbeline. Jonathan's extensive stage credits include Four Minutes Twelve Seconds (Hampstead Theatre/Trafalgar Studios), The Oresteia (Almeida), Love's Sacrifice and The Comedy of Errors (RSC), The Ritual Slaughter of George Mastromas (Royal Court) and Once in a Lifetime, Playing with Fire and The U.N. Inspector (National Theatre). Television includes Wolf Hall (BBC Two), The Bletchley Circle (ITV) and Silk (BBC).

The role of Posthumus will be played by Ira Mandela Siobhan. Ira's recent stage credits include Macbeth, A Season in the Congo and Feast at the Young Vic, Everyman, Fela! and DV8's Can We Talk About This? at the National Theatre, The Wind in the Willows (Vaudeville Theatre) and The Drowned Man: A Hollywood Fable (Punchdrunk). Film includes London Road and Pan.

Matthew Needham will play Iachimo having most recently starred in the short film Stutterer which won best foreign film at the LA shorts festival and has been shortlisted for best live action short film at the 88th Academy Awards. Matthew's previous work at Shakespeare's Globe includes The Comedy of Errors, Titus Andronicus and The Knight of the Burning Pestle (2014). For the RSC, credits include Henry IV Parts One and Two, Richard II, Love's Sacrifice and The Jew of Malta. Other theatre includes Our Country's Good (Out of Joint), Britannicus (Wilton's Music Hall), for which he was nominated for an Ian Charleson Award, and There is a War (National Theatre). His screen credits include Endeavour (ITV), The Hollow Crown Part Two (BBC) and Sherlock (BBC).

The Queen will be played by Claire-Louise Cordwell. Claire-Louise's previous work at the Globe includes Matthew Dunster's The Frontline. Other theatre includes Treasure Island (National Theatre), Ecstasy (Hampstead Theatre and West End) and Stoning Mary (Royal Court). Screen credits include Beowulf (ITV), Line of Duty (BBC 2) and The Honourable Woman (BBC). The role of her son, Cloten, will be played by Joshua Lacey. Joshua's recent theatre includes Wonder.Land, Everyman and One Man, Two Guvnors (National Theatre), Richard III (Trafalgar Studios), A Midsummer Night's Dream, Ragtime and Crazy for You (Regent's Park Open Air Theatre).

Martin Marquez will play Belarius. Martin's extensive stage credits include Husbands and Sons, Anything Goes and Love's Labours Lost for the National Theatre, Before I Leave for National Theatre Wales, Ah, Wilderness for the Young Vic, and Cleansed and Identical Twins for the Royal Court. Recent screen credits include SunTrap (BBC), Twenty Twelve (BBC) and in film, Elizabeth I and LES MISERABLES.

Award-winning actor William Grint plays Arviragus. William began his career in Deafinitely Youth Theatre, with credits including Beauty Manifesto, The Ritual, The Mobile Phone Show and Blackout. His film credits include Chasing Cotton Clouds, Strangers, for which he won best actor at Clin d'Oeil Festival for Deaf culture, and The Quiet Ones. Scott Karim will play Guiderius. Scott's recent theatre includes Brave New World (Northampton Royal & Derngate), The Invisible (Bush Theatre), Dara, Great Britain and Othello (National Theatre). His previous work at Shakespeare's Globe includes 2015's The Merchant of Venice.

The full cast comprises Leila Ayad, Okorie Chukwu, Claire-Louise Cordwell, William Grint, Maddy Hill, Sapphire Joy, Scott Karim, Erica Kouassi, Joshua Lacey, Ira Mandela Siobhan, Martin Marquez, Jonathan McGuinness, Malik-Sankara Mosiah Watson, Matthew Needham, Anwar Russell and Kai Spellman.
