Donmar Warehouse Artistic Director Michael Grandage will direct veteran actor Derek Jacobi in 'King Lear' as part of the theatre's 2010-2011 season, reports Variety.

"My collaboration with Derek Jacobi has led inexorably to this play," Grandage told Daily Variety. "We've never actually worked together at the Donmar itself, and we both believe there is much more intimacy in this play than is often seen."

Grandage and Jacobi have previously worked the SRO productions 'Don Carlos', 'The Tempest' and 'Twelfth Night'. For his performance in 'Twelfth Night', Jacobi garnered an Olivier award.

'King Lear' is scheduled to begin previews on December 3, with an official opening night set for December 7. The production will run through February 5.
