People Magazine is reporting that soccer star and model David Beckham is currently in talks to have his life story turned into a musical. The play would premiere in London's West End and portray "his rise from obscurity to international stardom, his universally acknowledged gifts as a supreme sportsman, and his Hollywood lifestyle all have the elements of an aspirational fable."

This is the second time in the past six months theatrical rumors have circulated around David and his wife Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham. Back in July UK's Now Magazine reported a musical comedy was in the works about the life of the famous couple titled MacBecks

"The Shakespearean-style tale will portray Posh, 34, as an ambitious Lady Macbeth figure," according to reports.

Director Ronan Smith told the Daily Express, "We're very excited by the script - it's a wild comedy romp that borrows from Shakespeare's Macbeth, King Lear, Romeo And Juliet, as well as Cyrano de Bergerac."

The play was set to open in January and is being produced by Long Road Productions, the same company that produced the hit Riverdance.
