Lead singer of The Feeling, Dan Gillespie Sells, has teamed up with TV, film and stage writer Tom MacRae on a new musical -- EVERYBODY'S TALKING ABOUT JAMIE.
The show, described by the Daily Mail as "a coming-of-age story," will be directed by Jonathan Butterell at the Crucible Theatre, beginning February 8, 2017.
No official synopsis, or further details on casting, have been announced.
British singer-songwriter and guitarist Dan Sells leads the pop/rock group The Feeling. He also wrote several songs for Sophie Ellis-Bextor's third solo album. The performer co-wrote and performed (with Ian Masterson) the theme song to BBC's 2008 dramedy series BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE.
Butterell has worked as a director and choreographer on Broadway, off-Broadway and in the West End, helping craft GIANT at D.C.'s Signature Theatre, Michael Ball's concert ALONE TOGETHER, OTHELLO and FAIR LADIES AT A GAME OF POEM CARDS at the Royal National Theatre, the workshop production of ROAD SHOW at NYTW, Broadway's THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF and NINE, SEE WHAT I WANNA SEE at The Public, A MAN OF NO IMPORTANCE in New York, INNER VOICES off-Broadway, COMPANY, INTO THE WOODS and HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE at Donmar, and more.
Among MacRae's TV writing credits are DOCTOR WHO, THREESOME and FUNGUS THE BOGEYMAN.
