A starry cast will bring the world premiere of Tom Stoppard's latest play Rock 'n' Roll to the Royal Court Theatre this summer.
Rufus Sewell, Brian Cox and Sinead Cusack will star in the play, which will run from June 3rd to July 15th as part of the 50th anniversary season at the Royal Court. It will then transfer to the Duke of York's Theatre, with dates to be announced, according to
Whatsonstage.com. The

Rock 'n' Roll, which was specifically written for the Royal Court. "
Rock 'n' Roll
spans the recent history of Czechoslovakia between the Prague Spring
and the Velvet Revolution - but from the double perspective of Prague,
where a rock 'n' roll band came to symbolise resistance to the regime,
and the British left, represented by a Communist philosopher at
Cambridge," states the article.
Stoppard, who was himself born in the former Czechloslovakia, has written a body of plays that include
s Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, Arcadia, Jumpers, The Real Thing, The Invention of Love, Hapgood, The Real Inspector Hound and the trilogy
The Coast of Utopia. His works are known for their intellectual depth and witty wordplay.
Sewell was featured in the original London production of Stoppard's
Arcadia, and has also been seen on the West End in
Luther, A Rat in the Skull and
Macbeth. His film credits include
Tristan and Isolde, The Legend of Zorro, A Knight's Tale, Dark City, Dangerous Beauty, Hamlet, Carrington and
A Man of No Importance.Cusack won the Evening Standard and Critics Circle awards for Best Actress for her London performance in
Our Lady of Sligo, while other credits includ
e The Mercy Seat and
Antony and Cleopatra. On Broadway, she was seen in
Cyrano de Bergerac and received a Tony nomination for her work in
Much Ado About Nothing. Her film credits include
V for Vendetta, Passion of Mind, Stealing Beauty, Revenge and
Alfred the Great.
Cox won Olivier Awards for his performances in
Rat in the Skull and
Titus Andronicus; other London credits include
Dublin Carol, The Taming of the Shrew and
Strange Interlude. He has been seen on screen in
