Students at a musical theatre training academy run by the star of the West End and Broadway, Michael Xavier, have released a charity single, It Started Here, to raise money for children's charity, Children with Cancer UK.
The single is an original song, written by John Victor and Chris Bush, and it features talented students aged from 12 years old - many of whom are stars of shows and plays themselves, such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, School of Rock, Annie, Anatomy of a Suicide and The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole the musical.
The students have had the best inspiration: Matt Henry, Kerry Ellis, Ramin Karimloo, Katie Brayben, and even recent Olivier Award winner Rebecca Trehearn are just some of the the star guests the students at Musical Theatre Masterclass (MTM), have been taught by this year at the academy.
Musical Theatre Masterclass (MTM) is widely acknowledged as the best part time musical theatre training, and students travel from as far away as Wales, Guernsey and Yorkshire to attend the three one-hour sessions each Sunday with masterclasses in singing, dancing and acting at The Umbrella Rooms, Shaftesbury Avenue.
There are also plenty of performance opportunities and students recently performed in Trafalgar Square at West End Live in front of over 10,000 people, alongside the best of the West End shows.
Michael Xavier says: "We are all really proud of this single, It Started Here. It's a fantastic original song, written by the very talented John Victor and Chris Bush, and sung beautifully by all our students. All the profits will go to the charity I have supported for some years, Children with Cancer UK."
There are regular audition days to join MTM and the next one follows a free masterclass, on 23 July.
'It Started Here' by John Victor and Chris Bush, was recorded at the Umbrella Rooms and is now available on iTunes and Spotify.
