Initial casting is today announced for the world premiere of Dark Tourism at Park Theatre (PARK90), from 29th September - 24th October, the debut play by Daniel Dingsdale. Amongst the cast are Tamaryn Payne and Jill Winternitz. Directed by Adam Lenson, this brand new play is a biting cultural satire on media cynicism and the world of celebrity, where one can go from nothing to everything and back again in the space of a YouTube video. Press Night is Thursday 1st October, 7pm.

When a radio DJ overshares his sexual exploits on air, children's television presenter Becky Watson's life tumbles into a media storm. PR guru Richard Powell steps in to diffuse the situation, but he's already dealing with a fame-hungry reality star, struggling actress and aggressive tabloid journalist. Can he spin any publicity into good publicity? Dark Tourism asks how far we will go for fame and reputation. And how much of what we see in the media is actually the truth?

Tamaryn Payne is best known to TV audiences as series regular Annalise Appleton in 'Hollyoaks'. Tamaryn's theatre credits include Ghosts (Greenwich Theatre), Blood Wedding (Courtyard), and The Heresy Of Love (Shakespeare's Globe).

Jill Winternitz received acclaim for her takeover as Girl in Once (Phoenix). Her previous theatre credits include Baby in Dirty Dancing (Piccadilly) and Hamlet and The Canterbury Tales (Cunard).

The cast also includes Huw Parmenter who was recently seen on TV's 'Vikings' (History) and whose theatre credits include The Ballad of Lost Dogs, Chaskis Theatre and Subterranean Sepoys, National Theatre/Tara Arts; Rebecca Brewer (The Merchant of Venice, Almeida, Friday Night Sex, Royal Court and Relative Values and A Chorus of Disapproval, Harold Pinter); Josie Dunn (James and the Giant Peach, Colchester Mercury, A Night of Unwriting, The Cockpit and The Story Giant, Shanty Theatre Company); the show's playwright Daniel Dingsdale (The Tempest, UK and Norway tour) and Tom Maller (The Mousetrap, St Martins, Summerfolk, Cochrane Theatre and Read Not Dead, Globe).

Adam Lenson has worked as Associate to Terry Johnson on many plays including The Duck House (West End & UK Tour). He was Associate Director on Olivier award winning Merrily We Roll Along, and has directed at the Finborough Theatre, Etcetera Theatre, Trafalgar Studios, English Theatre Frankfurt, Duke of York's and at the Edinburgh Fringe. Most recently he directed Songs for a New World (St. James Theatre) and See What I Wanna See (Jermyn Street Theatre).

Movement Director Polly Bennett; Composer Luke Bateman; Set Designer William Fricker; Sound Designer Mike Thacker.
