Casting Announced for 'Calendar Girls'

"CALENDAR GIRLS", the new stage play by Tim Firth, adapted from his own screenplay for the 2003 film, will star Lynda Bellingham, Patricia Hodge, Sian Phillips, Gaynor Faye, Brigit Forsyth, Julia Hills and Elaine C Smith. Also in the cast are Joan Blackham, Abby Francis, Gary Lilburn, Gerard McDermot and Carl Prekopp.

"CALENDAR GIRLS" will open at Chichester Festival Theatre on Tuesday 16 September, following previews from 5 September. Subsequent to its run in Chichester which will finish on 27 September, "CALENDAR GIRLS" will undertake a major national tour opening at the King's Theatre Glasgow on 30 September. The play will then visit the Alhambra Theatre Bradford (6 – 11 October), the King's Theatre Edinburgh (14 – 18 October), the Lowry Theatre Salford Quays (20 – 25 October), the Swan High Wycombe (27 October – 1 November), the Marlowe Theatre Canterbury (3 – 8 November), the Arts Theatre Cambridge (10 – 15 November), the Theatre Royal Bath (17 – 22 November), the Richmond Theatre Surrey (24 – 29 November), the Festival & Forum Theatres Malvern (1 – 6 December) and the Theatre Royal Plymouth (8 – 13 December). Following the national tour "CALENDAR GIRLS" will come to the West End.

"CALENDAR GIRLS" will be directed by Hamish McColl, who won an Olivier Award for writing and performing "The Play What I Wrote" in the West End. "CALENDAR GIRLS" will have a set by Robert Jones, with lighting by Malcolm Rippeth, costumes by Emma Williams and music by Steve Parry.

"CALENDAR GIRLS" will be produced by David Pugh & Dafydd Rogers in association with Chichester Festival Theatre.
