Regent's Park Open Air Theatre have today announced the full creative team and casting for Hansel and Gretel, a co-production with English National Opera, which plays 14 22 June. Sung in English, two casts will sing at alternate performances.
With 7 lead performers at each performance, an ensemble of 30, and an orchestra of 19, plus conductor, Hansel and Gretel will be the Open Air Theatre's largest Company.
Other productions in the 2019 season at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre are Our Town, Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning play (16 May 8 June), Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream (28 June 27 July) and Evita (2 August 21 September), lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Other ENO productions this summer are the first revival of Paul Bunyan at Alexandra Palace (9 13 May), a brand new production of Dido in collaboration with the Unicorn Theatre (11 May 2 June) and a brand new production of Noye's Fludde in collaboration with Theatre Royal Stratford East (2 13 July).
