Cast Set for RICHARD II at the Donmar Warehouse

According to the Daily Mail, Michael Grandage, the award-winning director has assembled his cast for his upcoming production of RICHARD II  at the Donmar Warehouse.

In the title role will be actor Eddie Redmayne, who has worked with Grandage in the past at Covent Garden. Redmayne is currently starring in The New York Film Festival's "My Week with Marilyn", directed by Simon Curtis .  The play will have its world premiere on October 9th as the Centerpiece at Alice Tully Hall. Redmayne's past roles include "Red" at the Donmar in which he co-starred with Alfred Molina.

Playing the role of Queen Isabella will be actress Pippa Bennett-Warner who has also worked with Grandage previously in his production of "King Lear".  Actor Ron Cook, who starred with Benett-Warner in Lear will play the Duke of York. Playing the role of John of Gaunt is actor Michael Hadley who has worked with Grandage in a previous production of "The Vordex". Sian Thomas Rounds out the cast, playing both the Duchess of York and the Duchess of Gloucester. 

Grandage is currently staging an opera at the Met in New York.
