A ten-strong cast of West-End talent headline SUMMER SESSIONS at the Wenlock & Essex in Islington, N1, on Sunday 6th July at 5.30pm.

The event will feature summer-inspired songs from smash hit and lesser-known musicals, performed in the laid-back environs of the the Wenlock & Essex; a venue that's gaining a reputatation as an up and coming London cabaret location.

SUMMER SESSIONS features a cast of exciting young talent, including Carly Bawden (The Umbrellas of Cherbourg; My Fair Lady; Tristan and Yseult and Dead Dogs in A Suitcase); Natalie Blenford (The Sound of Music, Whistle Down the Wind); Dan Buckley (The Book of Mormon, Ushers, Loserville); Michael Burgen (Spamalot); Lucyelle Cliffe (Wicked); Carly Thoms (Ushers) Oliver Watton (Wicked) and Tom Whitecross (Fleming, Sky Atlantic).

Adrianna Bertola, a student at Sylvia Young Theatre School and one of the RSC's original Matildas, will be making a special guest appearance.

Adrianna's credits include Violet in the original cast of Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, and Gretl in the original revival cast of The Sound of Music at The London Palladium. Adrianna also played Mini Jessie J in Jessie J's Who's Laughing Now video.

The cast also includes newcomers Luke Kelly, Kate Hume and London-based vocal harmony group, The Dukebox Singers (www.dukeboxsingers.com).

Musical direction is by Lee Freeman (Cool Rider, Ushers, West-End)

Producer Natalie Blenford said: "I've wanted to stage an informal, off-west end show for over two years and I couldn't be happier with the eclectic mix of talent taking part in Summer Sessions. I've personally worked with most of the artists on the bill and I know they all have incredible voices and brilliant anecdotes to share about their time in the musical theatre world. For anyone wanting to see their favourite performers up-close and personal, away from the costumes and special effects of the West-End mega-musicals, this is the perfect opportunity."

The event will also feature a charity raffle, with proceeds going to the Michael Sobell Hospice (http://michaelsobellhospice.co.uk).

Tickets cost £7 and can be bought on the door (cash only). To pre-register your name on the guest list, email summergigldn@gmail.com. The Wenlock & Essex is located at 18-26 Essex Rd, Islington N1 8LN. Doors open: 5.30pm; Event starts: 6pm; Event completes: No later than 8.15pm.

The producer can not guarantee the appearance of any one artist, and reserves the right to change the line-up due to illness or sudden unavailability of a performer. However at the time of going to press, all details are correct. Due to licensing laws, under 18s may not be admitted even if accompanied by an adult.
