Boys Joins Langford In SPAMALOT, Now Running To April 12

The West End's favourite leading lady Bonnie Langford sparkles, shines and shimmers her way back on to the stage as The Lady of The Lake in Monty Python's Spamalot at The Playhouse Theatre London from Monday 24th February.

Proving that we're not dead yet (contrary to the (un)popular rumours - blame the phone hacking scandal), Spamalot continues to thrill audiences from far and wide, and the current booking period has now been extended to 12th April 2014.

Fresh from her appearance on the current series of ITV1's Dancing on Ice, where Bonnie yet again proved to the nation that she's a natural born entertainer, she brings her own brand of showbiz glamour back to the stage as she is reunited with Joe Pasquale who returned to the role of King Arthur last month. Bonnie and Joe starred together in Spamalot last summer after Bonnie contacted Joe on Twitter, invited him to see her in the show and then suggested to the producers that he'd be a great King Arthur (she was proved right!).

Having first played The Lady of The Lake on the UK tour of Spamalot (playing at venues across the land, but fortunately not Swamp Castle), she then returned for a successful run at The Harold Pinter Theatre during the 2012 Olympics and then again when Spamalot moved to The Playhouse Theatre in 2013, alongside a host of famous King Arthurs including Marcus Brigstocke, Jon Culshaw, Stephen Tompkinson and Les Dennis.

Bonnie's performance as the Lady Of The Lake has received plaudits and great reviews from theatre-goers and critics alike. The Times described her as "brilliant" and "Bassey-esque" while Time Out proclaimed her "a sensation".

Bonnie's illustrious showbiz career began aged just six when she won the talent programme, Opportunity Knocksbefore starring in TV series Just William, the 1974 Broadway Revival of Gypsy (alongside Angela Langsbury) and the movie Bugsy Malone. Bonnie's adult life has seen her perform in top stage shows such as Chicago, Cats, Guys & Dolls and Dolly Parton's stage version of '9 to 5'. She came third place in Torvill & Dean's Dancing on Ice on ITV1 in 2006 and went on tour with them in 2007, before returning to the final series this year.

Also joining the cast is Daniel Boys, star of BBC1's Any Dream Will Do, and stage shows including Rent, War Of The Worlds and Avenue Q, who takes on the role of Sir Lancelot from 24 February. As well as having released his solo album So Close in 2009, Daniel performed I Know Him So Well with John Barrowman on his album Music, Music, Music, and he also sings the theme tune on the TV show, Neighbours.

Spamalot's run at The Playhouse Theatre follows Eric Idle's acclaimed performance of 'Always Look On The Bright Side of Life' at the 2012 Olympic Closing Ceremony - the world sang along, and Spamalot audiences get the opportunity to do so too!

Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot is a kind-of new musical with a book by Eric Idle and an entirely new score for the new production, (well, almost) created by Eric Idle and John Du Prez.

Spamalot tells the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and features a bevy (or possibly a brace) of beautiful show girls, witch burnings (cancelled due to health and safety) not to mention cows, killer rabbits and French people. The show features fantastic tunes more magical than a Camelot convention, including He Is Not Dead Yet, Knights of the Round Table, Find Your Grail and of course the Nation's Favourite Comedy Song (Reader's Digest Poll 2010 - before it went bust), Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life.
