According to Whatsonstage.com, a bomb threat has caused the cancellation of several West End performances tonight.

The threat resulted in the cancellation of  the 5 PM matinee of Mamma Mia! at the Prince of Wales Theatre and the evening performances of The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre and The Last Confession at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.  It also caused many streets, including Haymarket, to be cordoned off.

According to the article, "The West End incident began in the early hours of this morning when a suspicious vehicle was reported parked in Haymarket. A 'potentially viable explosive device' was discovered on the scene and defused by police. In addition to sealing several streets from traffic, Piccadilly Circus Tube station was closed."

West End theatregoers may check for updates from www.whatsonstage.com.
