Bob Golding To Star In MORECAMBE On The West End

Whatsostage.com is reporting that Morecambe, the award-winning solo show in which Bob Golding portrays the late comedian Eric Morecambe, will play the West End's Duchess Theatre for a six-week run beginning Deccember 9. The show is penned by Tim Whitnall and directed by Guy Masterson.

Morecambe, who had a popular comedy double act with Ernie Wise, passed away 25 years ago. The pair's 1970s TV series, The Morecambe and Wise Show, featured guest stars such as Cliff Richard, prime minister Harold Wilson, and Princess Anne.  The show Morecambe recently had a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Festival, and won a prestigious Fringe First Award.

Bob Golding is a comic actor who has worked on stage and television. He is best known for being the voice of Milo and Max in The Tweenies, a BAFTA award winning BBC children's programme made by Tell-Tale Productions. His other voice credits include The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, produced by Dirk Maggs, PC Plod and Whizz in "Noddy in Toyland" (Chorion Productions for Channel 5, Dennis and Gnasher (BBC), Yo Gabba Gabba for Nick Junior, Jim Jam And Sunny (CITV}, Higleytown Heroes for Disney and Numberjacks for the BBC.  Golding's stage credits include "Eight Miles High" by Jim Cartwright at the Bolton Octagon, the UK premiere of "Wasp" by Steve Martin, the world premiere of "Buddy's Song" by Nigel Hinton at the Victoria Theatre Stoke on Trent (where he has appeared several times). He also appeared in Only the Lonely and Elvis: The Musical in Londons West end. His television credits include: Peter Kay's "Britain's Got The Pop Factor and Possibly a New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Strictly on Ice," and "Pop Factor 2" in the UK.
