Beverley Knight Shares Excitement Over West End CATS: 'Should Be A Good Run!' & Talks Preparation In New Video

The world prepares to welcome a new Grizabella to the fresh new West End CATS revival!

UK music star and West End headliner Beverley Knight is set to play the central role of Grizabella in the new revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber's popular musical CATS later this year and the actress shared her enthusiasm for the show in a new social media message to fans this weekend.

Knight took to Twitter following the release of an extended video showing her rehearsing the standout showstopper from the score, "Memory", alongside composer Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber himself, writing, "Thanks my luvs for the positive reactions to the video of me singing @CatsMusical's "Memory". Should be a good run! xxx".

Subsequently, the post was retweeted by Lloyd Webber himself.

Fans came out to show support following the release of the video on Friday, with a poster named Idan Zilberman sharing, "@OfficialALW @Beverleyknight @CatsMusical She's amazing as the song and as the phenomenal composer" to which Knight replied, "@idanzil35 @OfficialALW @CatsMusical what a song eh?! ALW is a one-off. xxxx".

Also, Victoria Ling tweeted, "@Beverleyknight WOW! That was something! ;o) x" to which Knight replied, "@LilVik it's a good start!! xxxx".

A poster named Cat wrote, "@Beverleyknight Definitely got to come and see you in Cats as well. Enjoy the rest of your run in @MemphisMusical. Fantastical last night xx" to which Knight replied, "@CatW24 @MemphisMusical thanks so much! xxx".

Additionally, a video of Knight discussing her theatre regimen while performing in MEMPHIS in the West End and her preparation for CATS is available from an episode of popular UK talk show LOOSE WOMEN late last July is now available to view, as well.

Knight shares of discussing the role of Grizabella with last year's CATS star, Nicole Scherzinger, Knight reveals, "We talked about the challenge of taking on a song that is so well-known and so iconic and stripping it all back... making it your own expression and your own interpretation of it."

Beverley Knight recently appeared in the leading roles of the West End productions of THE BODYGUARD and MEMPHIS in addition to recording several popular albums and making appearances as a presenter on UK TV since her debut in the mid-1990s.
