Carrie Dunn, BroadwayWorld's UK editor-in-chief, is running the Royal Parks Half-Marathon in London this weekend.

She is aiming to complete the 13.1-mile course and raise money for the Alzheimer's Society and the Bobby Moore Fund, a branch of Cancer Research UK that focuses on promoting awareness and fighting bowel cancer.

"I'm strictly a hobby runner - I'm not very good at it at all," she admits, "but to raise money for such great causes will give me the motivation to complete the race.

"Half of all money I raise will go to the Alzheimer's Soviety, as my maternal grandmother died of dementia. The other half goes to the Bobby Moore Fund, as my oldest friend Claire is currently continuing her fight against this horrible disease - she's my age, 30, and she has two gorgeous little boys. So both charities are really close to my heart.

"It should be a great day, though, running through Hyde Park and some of London's most beautiful and characteristic landmarks. My only disappointment is that I'll be too tired and achy to go to the Apollo Victoria's 80th birthday party in the evening!"
