Welcome to the 2013 BWW:UK Awards!

Nominees this year include stars from The Bodyguard (including Heather Headley and Debbie Kurup), Merrily We Roll Along (including Damian Humbley and Jenna Russell), The Book of Mormon, Once, Barnum, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (including Douglas Hodge) and The Color Purple.

As you can see, the shortlist categories are ever so slightly different to the original nomination categories - that's because we had such a high volume of nominations (all from readers) in some categories that we felt it was fairer to ensure everyone's hard work was acknowledged and that theatregoers' appreciation was put on record.

NB1: "new production" in these categories doesn't necessarily refer to a newly-written show; it refers to a new opening (so it could be a new show or a revival). There are separate categories for new work.

NB2: "West End" in these categories refers to a broad circle around the centre of London.

NB3: "Featured" and "leading" are always words that are debated in awards categories - this is simply our judgement. if you do spot any errors, please do get in touch asap to let us know - we're only human and we had thousands of nominations to work our way through.

The categories this year are:
