Last night, Wednesday 13 January 2010, Legally Blonde The Musical held its opening night Gala performance at the Savoy Theatre in London. BWW is happy to bring you a video from opening night, straight from BWW's UK TV partners, reelkandi.tv! 

SheriDan Smith, Duncan James, Jill HalfpennyPeter Davison, Aoife Mulholland, Susan McFadden and Alex Gaumond lead the cast in Legally Blonde The Musical which is currently booking until 23 May 2010. Directed and choreographed by Tony Award-winning Jerry Mitchell, Legally Blonde The Musical has music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin, book byHeather Hach, set design by David Rockwell, costume design by Gregg Barnes, lighting design by Kenneth Posner and Paul Miller, sound design by Acme Sound Partners and orchestrations by Christopher Jahnke.

Following the performance guests were invited to the after party at the Waldorf Hotel to enjoy mini bottles of Veuve du Vernay pink champagne and canapes (Sweet roasted pepper muffins with caramelized onion, goats cheese mousse and black olive tapenade, Quesadilla filled with Monterey Jack cheese, guacamole and roasted red pepper, cut in triangles and served in a cone, Salad nicoise served in mini new potato , Miniature bagels with smoked salmon and cream cheese, California roll, prawn, avocado, mayonnaise with a soy dipping sauce and wasabi, Mini beef burger with tomato and lettuce, Chicken Caesar wraps).

Guests included David Tennant, Bob Geldof and Jeanne Marine, Neil Pearson, Adele Silva, Verity Rushworth, Jason Isaacs, Graham NortonJason Gardiner, Simon Webb, Antony Costa, Stacey Solomon,Stephen Mangan, Zoe Salmon, Angela Griffiths, Angela Rippon, Kim Metcalf, Kristen Scott-Thomas, Britt Ekland, Gary Lucy and Maria Filippov, Antony Cotton and Summer Strallen.

College sweetheart and homecoming queen Elle Woods (SheriDan Smith) doesn't take no for an answer. So when her boyfriend Warner (Duncan James) dumps her for someone serious, Elle puts down the credit card, hits the books, and heads for Harvard Law! Along the way, Elle proves that being true to yourself never goes out of style.

In 2001 Amanda Brown's novel Legally Blonde was made into a film starring Reese Witherspoon, produced by MGM and directed by Robert Luketic

Legally Blonde The Musical is produced in the West End by Sonia Friedman Productions, Robert G. Bartner, Ambassador Theatre Group, Jamie Hendry Productions and Act Productions.
