Louise Dearman is always a delight to interview - she's invariably excited about her next project and has plenty to say.
Her current project, though, is a special one. After the success of charity show 'Here Come The Girls' last year, which raised £13,000 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, she's now pulling together a new concert to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society, 'Let's Hear It For The Boys', featuring the very best of West End talent with XY chromosomes.
"Last year was all about the girls - let's make it about the guys this year. I couldn't believe my luck - I had my wishlist, and every single guy I've asked has said yes," she says.
It's an amazing list, as well: a catalogue of your favourite leading men, including (at the time of writing) Daniel Boys, Killian Donnelly, Ben Forster, Alex Gaumond, Daniel Koek, Tom Lister, Hugh Maynard, Lee Mead, John Owen-Jones, Ben Richards, Jon Robyns, Niall Sheehy, Oliver Tompsett and Michael Xavier.
"People have said to me, 'Dearman, how have you done it? How have you got this pulling power?'" she laughs. "They're all lovely, they're all my mates."
And as she points out, they're also performers with very loyal fanbases, so it's no wonder that tickets are selling fast.
"Alzheimer's disease is something that people feel strongly about - it's something that people want to help with raising money and awareness. I'll maybe sing one song to open the show," she explains, "and then I'll host it - I'll leave it to them! My friend Ian Stroughair is coming in to help direct, and each of the guys will sing a couple of songs, and we'll have a local choir - it's going to be a fantastic concert."
Let's Hear It For The Boys is at Dunstable's Grove Theatre on Sunday 10th May.
