Interview: Joe McElderry

BWW chats to Joe McElderry about bringing his Saturday Night At The Movies tour to Glasgow.

What can audiences expect from your Saturday Night At The Movies concert?

The show is very high energy and full of those iconic songs that you can just sit and sing along to and also get up and dance and just have a great time! It's been going down so well with the audiences and we are having a great time.

How did you select the songs that appear on your new album?

We all sat around and discussed our ideas of what we thought should go on the album and I obviously included a few of my favourites such as I Don't Want To Miss A Thing and Love Is All Around.

You performed here last May with Joseph- is there anything particularly special about a Glasgow audience?

I love Glasgow, I have visited on numerous occasions over the years and they are always such a great crowd! And always so supportive and warm!

Tell us a bit about the special guests you have on tour.

We have Ben James Ellis, Keith Jack and Sam Callahan- it's great as it's a totally different vibe having them on tour but a lot of fun! They perform some of their numbers and we do some group stuff together which has been great!

You're known for your fan interaction on social media and at stage door- why is this so important to you?

I think it's important to show your appreciation and Interact with people who are watching your show we can't do our jobs without them and I always think it's important to let them know about that! It's also good to hear their feedback from the show and meet and chat with them.

What's next for you after your solo tour?

I head back on the road with Joseph until Christmas and we finish at Newcastle arena in December!
