A FOX ON THE FAIRWAY - two-time Olivier Award-winning playwright Ken Ludwig's comedy about a man's eternal affair with golf - will have its British premiere starting Friday, August 25 at the Queen's Theater Hornchurch (Billet Lane, Hornchurch). Directed by Philip Wilson, A FOX ON THE FAIRWAY plays through September 16 and kicks off the Queen's Theater's 2017-18 season.
One of several farces Mr. Ludwig has written - among his 24 plays and musicals - A FOX ON THE FAIRWAY is set on the day of the annual golf tournament between rival country clubs when one star golfer has switched sides, and one golf club president has secretly wagered his wife's antique shop on the tournament's outcome, thus setting the stage for no end of classic comedy.
The cast of A FOX ON THE FAIRWAY stars Damien Matthews, Natalie Walker, Romayne Andrews, Simon Lloyd, Sarah Quist and Ottilie Mackintosh.
A FOX ON THE FAIRWAY premiered in 2010 at the Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA, and was followed by productions at George Street Playhouse NJ, Gulfshore Playhouse, FL, and Aurora Theatre, GA.
Among Mr. Ludwig's most acclaimed productions: the Tony Award-winning CRAZY FOR YOU, the recent world premiere of Agatha Christie's MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS and ROBIN HOOD, along with the beloved LEND ME A TENOR and his adaptation of THREE MUSKETEERS.
The Queen's Theater Hornchurch has a long history of producing farces including its highly praised productions of RUN FOR YOUR WIFE, NOISES OFF, TWO AND TWO MAKE SEX, and CAN'T PAY, WON'T PAY.
