As reported previously in BroadwayWorld, stage and screen legend Angela Lansbury will make a rare public speaking appearance on October 8th at Cuesta College Performing Arts Center in San Luis Obispo, California. The fundraising event will benefit St. Paul's Episcopal Church in seaside Cambria.

"A Conversation with Angela Lansbury" will feature a half-hour long film presentation of highlights from her illustrious career, followed by an interview conducted by the church's Rev. Brian Palmer, with an audience Q&A to end the evening.

In a feature story about the event, the San Luis Obispo's Tribune reports that the beloved star, who turns 90 on October 16th, will soon be leaving for London to appear in a West End revival of Enid Bagnold's THE CHALK GARDEN.

Premiering on Broadway in 1955, THE CHALK GARDEN concerns a troubled 16-year-old who rids herself of her governesses by discovering dark secrets about their pasts.

Angela Lansbury recently completed a tour as Madame Arcati in Noel Coward's BLITHE SPIRIT, a role for which she received her fifth Tony Award in 2009 and her first Olivier Award in 2015.
