Nordoff Robbins has just announced that the Manic Street Preachers and Fatboy Slim will be accepting Awards at our annuAl Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards on 29th June 2012.

The Manic Street Preachers will be presented with the Hard Rock Cafe Ambassadors of Rock Award and are undoubtedly one of Britain’s biggest and best-loved rock bands, having released ten studio albums over the last twenty years they have sold millions of records worldwide.

“We feel privileged and honoured to be recognised with our Hard Rock Cafe ‘Ambassadors of Rock Award’ at this year’s O2 Silver Clefs in support of Nordoff Robbins, especially for doing something that we love and respect so much. Thank You Nordoff Robbins.”

Keeping in line with Hard Rock Cafe’s Global philanthropic commitment, Hard Rock’s Ambassadors of Rock Award has, for the past six years, been presented to iconic artists who have not only contributed to the world of music but who have also leant time to supporting charitable causes. Previous recipients of Hard Rock’s Ambassadors of Rock Awards include Ozzy Osbourne, Bryan Adams, Queen and Bryan Ferry.

“Philanthropy is a value at the core of the Hard Rock brand and each year we look forward to supporting the important work of our longstanding charity partner Nordoff Robbins at the O2 Silver Clef Awards.” said Calum MacPherson, Area Vice President of Operations Europe for Hard Rock International. “We think the Manic Street Preachers, who have had an immense impact on British rock music, are an outstanding choice for the recipient of this year’s Hard Rock Cafe ‘Ambassadors of Rock Award."

Fatboy Slim will receive the Investec Icon Award. This year has seen Fatboy Slim flying around the globe to headline at some of the biggest festivals in the world, whilst earlier this month he hosted another of his legendary Brighton outdoor concerts, playing to almost 25,000 people.

Fatboy Slim says “I am thrilled to be the recipient of this year’s Investec ‘Icon Award’ at the Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef lunch, and would like to take this opportunity to say how important the work of Nordoff Robbins is in transforming lives through music therapy. I’m also really looking forward to catching up with old friends and faces at the lunch in June.”

Bernard Kantor, of Investec, the international specialist bank and asset manager says: “Investec is delighted to support Nordoff Robbins for the sixth consecutive year. The charity transforms lives all over the UK via their music therapy work, and through our sponsorship of the ‘Icon Award’ at the O2 Silver Clef Award ceremony, we hope to help raise awareness for this valuable cause.”

It is no surprise that both are being congratulated for their achievements, an incredible line up of award winners which include Andrew Lloyd Webber, Jessie J, Michael Bublé, Emilé Sande, Conor Maynard and Laura Wright. David Munns, Chairman, Nordoff Robbins says: “Manic Street Preachers and Fatboy Slim are hugely iconic in terms of the impact they have had on the British music industry and are brilliant candidates for our Hard Rock Cafe Ambassadors of Rock Award and our Investec Icon Award. We are thrilled to be celebrating their success."

Nordoff Robbins reaches out to so many, helping through music therapy to dramatically enhance and in many ways save the lives of people who they work with and their loved ones. The annuAl Nordoff Robbins Silver Clef Awards is a star-studded annual event known for its 'who's who' audience of A-list musical heavyweights which recognises outstanding musical talent whilst raising money to transform the lives of vulnerable children and adult.
