Andrew Lloyd Webber 'In Talks' for Future ITV Series

According to The Press Association, Andrew Lloyd Webber has revealed that he has not yet sealed a deal to do another reality series for ITV. Webber's last outing on ITV, 'Superstar', in which actor Ben Forster was chosen for the role of Jesus in an arena tour of Jesus Christ Superstar, attracted only half the number of viewers as the composer's last show on BBC. Said Webber, "That could be two years off, but what I can say is I'm in discussions to do a special with ITV after Superstar."

According to the report, an average of 3.3 million tuned in for the 75-minute finale of Superstar compared with the 7.2 million who watched the final of his BBC series, 'I'd Do Anything' on BBC One and the six million who viewed 'Over The Rainbow.'

31-year-old Ben Forster is a stage school graduate who will join 'Superstar' cast members Tim Minchin, DJ Chris Moyles, and Melanie C in the musical which begins touring this month. 

In addition, Webber shared that he will be focusing on bringing his latest musical, which tells the story of Stephen Ward, a key figure in the scandolous 'Pufumo Affair' and subsequent trial, to the West End stage. In a recent TV interview, Webber described Ward as, "the most popular man in London who ended up with absolutely nobody after the trial. I kind of think he was a fall guy. A very interesting guy."
