Ambassador Theatre Group Appoints Simon Palethorpe as Managing Director

The Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) today announces the appointment of Simon Palethorpe to a newly created Executive Director role as MD (Ticketing).

Based at ATG's Charing Cross Road Office, Simon will take on responsibility for the Group's Sales and Ticketing Operation of some 10 million tickets per annum and for further developing its Revenue Management and online operations. The full roster of ATG venues represents around 400,000 seats ticketed per week. Simon will join ATG on 8 August as a member of the ATG Executive Board.

Simon has an extensive experience in consumer and retail businesses, including Avis, John Lewis, Pepsico and EMI. He also brings considerable expertise in online analysis and Yield and Revenue Management.

He joins from Terra Firma Capital Partners where he was a Business Director, responsible for improving business performance in Terra Firma's portfolio companies. Prior to this, Simon was Group Commercial Director for Avis Europe plc, where he was responsible for Sales, Revenue Management, Marketing, Customer Service and contact centres. Whilst at Avis, Simon created the Revenue Management function as part of the business turnaround and oversaw the first pan-European advertising campaign and the re-engineering of Avis's airport offering.

Before joining Avis in 2004, Simon spent four years at John Lewis. As Managing Director of John Lewis Direct he was responsible for managing the business as a stand-alone operation within John Lewis' Department Store division. The Direct business included the Internet and Catalogue businesses. He later became Finance Director for John Lewis Department Stores.

Co-founded by Howard Panter and Rosemary Squire in 1992, the Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) is the largest owner/operator of theatres in the UK with 39 venues, an internationally recognised theatre producer and a leader in theatre ticketing services.

Current and recent ATG co-productions include Ghost the Musical, South Pacific, Legally Blonde the Musical, Monty Python's Spamalot, The Misanthrope, West Side Story, Elling, Guys and Dolls, Sweeney Todd, Company, Exit the King and The Rocky Horror Show.
