Whatsonstage.com reports that The Menier Chocolate Factory is premiering a new play by Jonathan Lewis and Miranda Foster. All Mouth starts previews May 23, opens May 31, and will run through July 7.
The husband/wife writing team's last play, Our Boys, was a hit at the Donmar Warehouse twelve years ago. Lewis, who directed the premiere of Chris England's Breakfast with Jonny Wilkinson at the Menier last summer, returns to direct All Mouth, which features scenic design by Anthony Lamble and music by Jason Carr.
Paul Miller's revival of Christopher Hampton's Total Eclipse, currently at the Menier and starring Olivier Award-winning Sunday in the Park with George star Daniel Evans, will conclude its run May 27.
According to the theatre website, All Mouth is "set in the heart of Soho, (and) is a wry eavesdrop on the unseen voiceover world, the people behind the voices, the ad agencies and the machinations of the studios. As Digby agonises over what eight records to take for his desert island discs, and Greg can't take the pressure of being down to the last two for a new regular on EastEnders, Mel won't speak to her ex and Paddy pretends to be a banker... they prepare for a strike to protect their livelihoods. But will anyone take striking actors seriously?"Videos
