The biopic would follow Dusty's "re-invention" in 1968 when she moved to Memphis and began working with Atlantic Records on her album "Dusty in Memphis", which featured her popular single "Son of A Preacher Man".
As BroadwayWorld previously reported, a new musical based on the life of Dusty is allegedly being developed for a 2014 opening in the West End. Writer and broadcaster Sandi Toksvig, Springfield's former manager and friend Vicki Wickham and THE BODYGUARD's David Ian are part of the creative and producing team.
FOREVER DUSTY, another musical about Springfield written by Kirsten Holly Smith and Jonathan Vankin, recently ended its run off-Broadway at New World Stages in April.BWW will bring you updates as we find out more about the Dusty film!
