The UK Premiere of Addictions, three one-act plays by Tricia Walsh-Smith, is set for Sunday, June 8 at the Duchess Theatre in London's West End, directed by Christopher Biggins. Both Christopher Biggins and Tricia Walsh-Smith will join the previously announced Trudie Styler in the cast of this one-night-only benefit performance for The Kevin Walsh Foundation, which offers assistance to individuals who are struggling with drug or alcohol abuse. Additional casting will be announced soon.
British playwright Tricia Walsh-Smith is the author of the hit play Bonkers, which premiered at the Man in the Moon Theatre in London. Addictions was written after her youngest brother Kevin committed suicide. Tricia and her family realized that the tragic event was the result of his longtime addiction to alcohol and it is her hope that this play might help other suffering addicts. Addictions had its U.S. premiere in 2006 at New York City's Promenade Theatre with a celebrity reading benefiting Caron Treatment Centers, an internationally recognized leader in the treatment of addiction to alcohol and drugs. It raised high six figures and the money is being used to rehabilitate adults who can't afford treatment.
Trudie Styler has appeared in numerous films including Bug, Fair Game and Me Without You, and on television in Friends, Empire, Midsomer Murders, and Miss Marple Mysteries. She has also produced several films including Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints starring Robert Downey Jr. Trudie has been married to Sting since 1992.
Tricia Walsh-Smith is thrilled to be returning to her acting roots with her upcoming appearance in Addictions. Her credits include numerous television movies and sitcoms, feature films including the cult hit Terror, and over 500 commercials in the UK and Europe.
