Activities, Crafts & Performances at The Royal Opera House's Wonder Women Family Sunday Image

Jam-packed with activities, crafts, live performances and fun for all ages, the Royal Opera House's Wonder Women Family Sunday on Sunday 17 March, 11am to 3pm, will celebrate the many brilliant ladies who have been instrumental in the work of The Royal Opera and The Royal Ballet. Tickets cost £10 for adults and £8 for children and can be bought in advance or on the day. The event is suitable for children aged 3 to 10 years old.

On the day there will be Draft Works performances from dancers of The Royal Ballet including work choreographed by Hannah Grennell and a female pas de deux choreographed by Valentino Zucchetti. Audiences can participate in a ballet workshop session as well as take part in a 'Dance Mama' workshop, celebrating the dancing mums at The Royal Ballet. Families can watch a performance of Sleeping Beauty re-imagined which explores the traditional fairy-tale and will be performed by four dancers including ex-Royal Ballet dancers Laura McCulloch and Camille Bracher. On the music side, a female brass quartet, 'Bella Tromba' and piano duets will animate the spaces.

In addition, families can join our prop makers to take part in upcycling workshops using pointe shoes, make shadow puppets, conduct an orchestra and immerse themselves in the Big Sing choral activity, as well as relax to storytelling, watch demonstrations from the Armoury Department, and transform into characters from The Royal Opera and The Royal Ballet's repertory by dressing up in various costumes
