Yes, Virginia There Is A Santa Claus at Laurel Ridge Community College

MIDDLETOWN, VA - Remember the good old days of radio—when people had to use their imaginations—when the mind was a stage? Those days are back—only better! Andrew J. Fenady has written his award-winning production as RADIO PLAYS where you can SEE as well as HEAR radio programs. The play is an adaptation of the famous 1897 editorial in the New York Sun, where a little girl named Virginia writes to the newspaper, asking if Santa Claus is real. "Dear Editor, I am eight years old. Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus. Papa says if you see it in the Sun, it's so. Please tell me the truth. Is there a Santa Claus?" Ed Mitchell, the editor, assigns Frank Church—a reporter on the verge of self destruction—the task of answering Virginia's question. Church's quest and reply have become one of the world's most quoted and beloved editorials. The editorial's response, assuring Virginia that Santa Claus exists, has since become a beloved Christmas tradition. 

Behold, Selah Theatre Project in partnership with Laurel Ridge Community College, presents "Yes Virginia, There is a Santa Claus," where nineteen actors, both young and seasoned, grace the stage with their enchanting performance. In this production, audiences will be transported to the magical days of radio, where they'll meet Virginia, Frank Church, Santa Claus, and a host of other colorful characters. The talented cast brings the story to life with their impressive acting skills for audiences to SEE and HEAR the reenactment of this holiday favorite.
