The Charleston Light Opera Guild will be hosting auditions for their upcoming production of 42nd Street on February 4th, 5th and 6th, 2019. This will be CLOG's third time producing this show, their first being in 1987 and last being in 2001.
The show, which opens on April 26th, 2019, heavily features tap dancing. Those interested in auditions must attend all three audition dates, as each date will focus on a specific aspect of the audition.
February 4th, 2019 at 7:30 PM: Singing audition. Those auditioning should prepare a vocal selection and bring sheet music to the audition for the Guild accompanist.
February 5th, 2019 at 7:30 PM: Reading audition. Scripts will be provided.
February 6th, 2019 at 7:30 PM: Dancing audition. Those auditioning must come dressed to dance and show your physique. Both tap and musical theater combinations will be taught.
Auditions will be held at the Charleston Light Opera Guild Theatre located at 411 Tennessee Avenue, Charleston, WV 25302.

Dorothy Brock - Established Broadway star; alto; mid-age; dramatic flair actress
Peggy Sawyer - Talented young hopeful performer; mezzo-soprano; must tap
Julian Marsh - Broadway show director; 30s-60s; baritone; strong personality
Maggie Jones - Co-author of show within show, Pretty Lady; mid-age; alto; comedic ability
Bert Barry - Co-author of Pretty Lady; mid-age; baritone; comedic ability
Billy Lawlor - Male lead of Pretty Lady; 20s; tenor with range; dances
Ann Reilly (Anytime Annie) - Chorus girl; mezzo/high alto; 20s-30s; must tap
Andy Lee - Dance director of Pretty Lady; baritone; mid-age; must tap
Pat Denning - Former vaudeville partner of Dorothy Brock; mid-age; baritone; sings very little
Abner Dillon - Financier for Pretty Lady and sugar daddy of Dorothy Brock; mid-age; baritone
Phyllis Dale - Principal chorus girl; soprano; 17-30s; must tap
Lorraine Fleming - Principal chorus girl; soprano; 17-30s; must tap
Character roles of gangsters, policeman, doctor, etc. / Large Chorus / Dancers
42nd Street will be Directed and Choreographed by Nina Denton Pasinetti with Bobby Hodges, Jr. serving as Musical Director/Conductor, John Patrick as Accompanist and Tom Pasinetti as the Technical Director.
