The Oresteia by Aeschylus - the only surviving example of a complete ancient trilogy - is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for European arts. For centuries, people have drawn upon the myth of Orestes, son of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra, who killed his mother and her lover to avenge his murdered father.

The production’s authors explore the archetype of the Family. The story of the Atridae enables them to offer their own personal thoughts on the complexity of family relations. “Myths are clues to the spiritual potentialities of the human life”, wrote the great religious scholar Joseph Campbell.
