Synopsis

If Monty Python were tasked with rewriting an Agatha Christie murder mystery, the results wouldn’t be half as funny as The Murder Room, where “murder most foul” becomes “mayhem most farcical.” Mavis Templeton Hollister returns to Brynwood Cottage in northern England only to find her husband, Edgar, waiting to greet her ... which is slightly distressing, considering she was 99% sure she had killed him earlier. She quickly “finishes the job” but Edgar’s disappearance kick-starts a remarkable zany chain of events. Plodding police inspectors, mysterious hidden compartments, dull-witted relations and noisy servants all make “The Murder Room” an utterly charming place to be. Now Bowie Community Theatre stages a fresh production of this “killer” comedy from prolific playwright Jack Sharkey.

Bowie Community Theatre presents this wonderful comedy at Bowie Playhouse, White Marsh Recreation Park, 16500 White Marsh Park Drive, Bowie MD 20715. Handicapped parking and theatre facilities available.

Performances

Running from October 31 through November 15, performances will be as follows: Fridays and Saturdays at 8PM, Sunday matinees at 2PM and an Saturday matinee on November 8 – 2PM
