Clague Playhouse goes hilariously back to the Dark Ages with INCORRUPTIBLE
Clague Playhouse presents its 5th and final production of the 89th season, INCORRUPTIBLE by Michael Hollinger. Running May 12 through June 4, 2017, INCORRUPTIBLE is a dark comedy about the dark ages that’ll have audiences asking for mercy while rolling in the aisles with laughter.
The Cast
Directed by Tyson Douglas Rand, this cheeky farce taking place in a 1250 A.D. French monastery features the talents of Tim Walsh as Brother Martin, Marthan Brown as Peasant Woman, Charles (Chuck) Cover as Olf, Richie Lynch as Father Charles, Dan Sekanic as Brother Felix, Jeff Bartholomew as Jack, Emmy Cohen as Marie, and Meg Parish as Mother Agatha.
The Story
The Brothers of Saint Foy is a dwindling order. They work hard to care for their parish village but the relics (bones) of their patron saint have not worked a miracle in thirteen years. Their only income is from a “Pay to Pray” policy and no one in their village can afford to pay the penny! When the convent in a neighboring town claims to have acquired the relics of “The Real St. Foy” the pilgrims flock to pray for miracles and the battle begins! Toss in a one eyed Jester/con man, his seductive dancer “wife” and the promise of a visit from the Pope and… – Well, all SOMETHING breaks loose! This is a dark comedy that playfully examines how, both then and now, we often feel compelled to do the wrong thing for all the right reasons – and our only saving grace is… Grace itself. A farcical & physical romp.
