Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is coming soon, with a unique take on this familiar story.
Building on the huge success of last spring’s production of Godspell!, Hope Theater presents Disney’s Beauty and the Beast in June of 2023.
For nearly 300 years, the tale of "Beauty and the Beast" has captured the imaginations of people around the world. In 1991, Disney produced their own take on this "tale as old as time" in their 30th animated feature. And, in 1994, they brought that animated story to the Broadway stage where it enjoyed amazing success over its 13-year run. The Broadway production of Disney's version of the story sought to capture the visuals of the animated classic. The original tale, however, offers a darker aesthetic drawn from its 18th century setting and a time of wealthy oppression, masquerades, and a gothic flare to the story.
Hope Theater is excited to share Disney's Beauty and the Beast with all the favorite songs and characters the world has come to love, with creative imagery that draws from the rich romance and dark environment of the original tale, We stage this remarkable fable for the whole family, with a fresh vision you’ve likely not seen before.
The same team that brought you Godspell returns to bring Disney’s Beauty and the Beast to the stage: visionary story-painter Scott Heine as director, Margo Heine as music director, Josie Corrado as choreographer, and Scott and Hilary Pierce as producers. The cast is full of well-regarded, incredibly talented performers from all over Northern Virginia: Rebekah Raze as Belle, Billy Valentine as Beast, Spencer Pilcher as Gaston, Josh Carias as Lefou, Rich Pinson as Maurice, Katy Benko-Miner as Mrs. Potts, Bill Barnes as Lumiere, Andrew Harasty as Cogsworth, and an amazing ensemble of performers that truly bring this show to life.
Hope Theater provides a state-of-the-art comfortable setting for audiences to relax and enjoy a break from the outside world.
There will be nine performances of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at Hope Theater, 4175 Bludau Drive, Warrenton, Virginia (eastern Fauquier County, just across the Prince William county line). June 2 through June 18, 2023. Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm. Sundays at 2pm. Tickets are $24 for adults, $21 for active military or seniors, $18 for youth age 17 and below.
