TheatreWashington is thrilled to announce the inaugural theatreWeek Kickoff Party, a free community-wide celebration of theatre in the nation's capital, on Saturday, September 16, from noon until 4:00pm. [See below for calendar information.]
The theatreWeek Kickoff Party will take place at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company (
641 D Street NW), and feature more than 20 theatre companies from across the region. Naturally, as a celebration of live theatre, the event will feature live performances, ticket giveaways, special discounts, free food & drink, and additional activities. The event is free and open to the public.

Amy Austin. "theatreWeek itself signals the start of a season of great work in the nation's capital, and the Kickoff Party offers the perfect opportunity to share our excitement and energy while providing a sneak peek into the new theatre season, for both existing patrons and new audiences."

The theatreWeek Kickoff Party is part of theatreWeek, an annual celebration of Washington's vibrant theatre scene and theatre lovers, ,that offers tremendous discounts, encouraging patrons to sample theatre much as Restaurant Week allows that opportunity for diners. Running from September 19 through October 1, 2017, theatreWeek offers the opportunity to purchase discounted tickets for a number of fall performances in the nation's capital. theatreWeek is generously supported by TodayTix and Geico, and funded in part by the D.C.
