Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company announces its newest annual fall benefit - Dinner on Stage 2009. This exclusive event, now in its second year, brings theatre fans backstage and on stage for a one-of-a-kind evening, this year including a look at some of the convention-defying plays that have graced the theatre's stage over the last 30 seasons. Dinner on Stage takes place on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 6:30pm at 641 D Street, NW. Dress code for the evening: Festive and elegant; black tie optional.
Celebrating Season 30, Woolly's 30th season of defying convention and producing new work in Washington, DC, the 2009 Dinner on Stage offers attendees an opportunity to enjoy cocktails (6:30pm) while exploring Woolly's backstage - green room, dressing rooms, and scene shop - before stepping into the spotlight for an elegant dining experience on the stage (7:30pm). Dessert and dancing in the Kogod Lobby (9pm) are the final act for the evening.
As part of the evening, Artistic Director and co-founder Howard Shalwitz will be joined by Company Members Naomi Jacobson, Kate Eastwood Norris, and Michael Russotto to read scenes from some of Woolly's signature plays. Dinner on Stage Co-chairs: Elizabeth Friedman, Rachel Kronowitz, and Mark Lewis.
Tickets for Dinner on Stage are $250 ($150 tax-deductible), available online at www.woollymamoth.net. Seating is limited to stage capacity. All proceeds benefit Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company's artistic and community programs.
