Women Playwrights Take the Stage at 8th Annual DC SWAN DAY Today

Today, March 28, 2015, Guillotine Theatre Company will host the 8th Annual DC SWAN Day Staged Reading Marathon at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. From 12noon to 2 p.m., local theatre troupes will preview plays being developed for the Capitol Fringe Festival and for the Women's Voices Theatre Festival.

Participating Theatres include Pallas Theatre Collective, Tasty Monster Productions, and Guillotine Theatre. Staged readings will include scenes from plays by Heather Bagnall, Laura Rocklyn, Sylvia Mallory, and Monique LaForce. Guillotine Theatre will preview a scene from its upcoming 2015 Capital Fringe Festival Production, Cold As Death, adapted by Monique LaForce from an early 17th century play by Thomas Middleton.

At the National Museum of Women in the Arts, 1250 New York Ave., NW (Although this event is free, there is a small admission charge for the Museum). For more information about SWAN Day events happening around the world, visit www.SwanDay.org.
