A reading of Atlanta-based playwright Janece Shafer's new play Brownie Points will be presented as part of Theater J's fourth Incubator Series at the Aaron & Cecile Goldman Theater in the Washington DCJCC (February 11-12).

"In Brownie Points, we are introduced to a great range of women, both black and white, negotiating relationships with their daughters and between themselves. The play is a study of women who mean well but miss the mark entirely," state press notes.

Shaffer's previous plays include Managing Maxine, Bluish, Hula-Hoopin' Hannah and Her Hanukah Adventure, and Wishful Thinking, which was nominated for the American Theatre Critic Association's New Play Award.
