The Kinsey Sicks, the Dragapella Beautyshop Quartet that The San Francisco Chronicle deems "high-camp, unafraid, subversive and astonishing," brings its irreverent humor to the Theater J stage just in time for the holidays. With gut-busting parodies and raucous schtick, The Kinsey Sicks offers a hilarious alternative to the typical sentimental holiday fare. The ladies return to Theater J for a limited engagement run from December 20 through 28 after playing to sold-out crowds in 2011.

Oy Vey in a Manger finds Kinsey Sicks members Rachel, Winnie, Trixie, and Trampolina trying to sell off their manger-yes, that manger-before it's foreclosed. Secrets are revealed, Jewish-Gentile tensions surface, and a raunchy good time is had by all. The hilarious musical review and comedy performance features deliciously mischievous reinterpretations of holiday classics, such as "I Had A Little Facial," and "God Bless Ye Femmy Lesbians," as well as "Harried Little Christmas," and "Oh Hoey Night."

"It's time for a holiday celebration," said Theater J Artistic Director Adam Immerwahr, "and what better way to mark the season than with a naughty Chanukah-Christmas mashup by the world's most delightful, and melodic, all-male drag queen beauty-shop quartet? Not only are The Kinsey Sicks hilarious, fun, and perfectly salacious-but they sing like angels. These ladies haven't been to DC in years, and you won't want to miss their triumphant return!"

Spawned in San Francisco over 17 years ago, The Kinsey Sicks have performed in 42 states, Mexico, Canada, Europe and Australia. In 2001, they starred in their own Off-Broadway show at New York's legendary Studio 54. That production received a nomination for a Lucille Lortel Award (the Off-Broadway Tony) for Best Musical and a Drama Desk nomination for Best Lyrics. The Kinsey Sicks have released 9 hilarious CDs, have been profiled on national television, and were the subjects of a lengthy cover feature in the arts section of The New York Times. The Kinsey Sicks is also the subjects of two films: a concert film, I Wanna Be a Republican and a behind-the-scenes documentary, Almost Infamous, chronicling the adventure of the group's extended run at the Las Vegas Hilton.

The cast of The Kinsey Sicks features Spencer Brown as Trampolina, Jeff Manabat as Trixie, Nathan Marken as Winnie, and Ben Schatzas Rachel.

Oy Vey in a Manger runs 10 performances only, December 20 through 28, 2016 at Theater J in the Edlavitch DCJCC's Aaron & Cecile Goldman Theater. Press night is Sunday, December 19 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are available for $47 at theaterj.org or (202) 777-3210.
