The First National Tween Girl Summit 2009 announces the concert line-up for this year's Tween Summit Music Festival. Headlining the performance will be American Idol finalist Brooke White, teen rock band Comic Book Heroes, and the energetic fun boy band WOW. Opening the show will be tween singers and dancers Cymphonique and Jacob Latimore. The AllyKatzz Tween Summit Music Festival is free to all Summit attendees. To register for the The Tween Summit, visit www.tweensummit.com. The Summit and the Music Festival will be held at the Historic Capital Hilton Hotel in Washington, DC on October 10, 2009.
The daylong Summit, hosted by AK Tweens and AllyKatzz.com, will examine the minds, motivation and lives of tween girls, giving them a platform to share their thoughts and opinions on a range of subjects. Over 300 tween girls from around the country will convene with policy makers, experts, and celebrities to discuss a wide range of topics. Parents, politicians and marketers will have the opportunity to hear directly from the girls about what's important to them - from their struggles with peer and parental pressure, to government policy affecting their lives, to what motivates them to buy what they buy. The evening concert performance will offer a chance for the girls to celebrate this groundbreaking Summit.
"Tween girls are drawn to talented performers who emanate the joy of life," states Denise Restauri, founder of The Tween Summit, AllyKatzz.com, and AK Tweens. "The Tween Summit is a day of celebrating the excitement of youth and hope for the future. As my tween friends say, ‘This concert is going to Rock!'"
ABOUT BROOKE WHITE
Singer/songwriter/musician Brooke White became America's sweetheart when she appeared as a finalist on Fox's hit reality show "American Idol." Her acclaimed debut full-length album High Hopes & Heartbreak was released July 21 via June Baby Records, a new indie label formed by Brooke, Randy Jackson and Carl Stubner (head of Sanctuary Artist Management). For this project Brooke teamed with Randy who executive-produced, marking the first time he has produced an "American Idol" contestant's music in the eight years of the popular TV show. Also a gifted songwriter, Brooke co-wrote all but one song on the disc with producer Dave Cobb (Chris Cornell, Shooter Jennings) to ensure that the album fully reflects who Brooke is as an artist. Brooke has just set off on her first-ever nationwide tour teaming up with fellow "Idol" alum Michael Johns for a co-headlining run. www.realbrookewhite.com; www.myspace.com/brookewhite.
