Washington's favorite wisecracking troupe, The Capitol Steps, will return to McLean's Alden Theatre for their annual, two-night showing on Friday, Jan. 7, and Saturday, Jan. 8, at 8 p.m. Tickets are $45, $40 for McLean tax district residents. Friday evening's performance will be followed by a free reception for ticket holders sponsored by the Friends of the McLean Community Center.

The Capitol Steps began in 1981, when a group of Senate staffers set out to satirize the very institutions and individuals that employed them. Over the years, the troupe's performers have worked in a total of 18 congressional offices and represent 62 years of collective House and Senate staff experience.

With 30 albums, including "Liberal Shop of Horrors," "Barackin' Around the Christmas Tree" and "Obama Mia!," they group has been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC and PBS. They can be heard four times a year on National Public Radio stations nationwide during their "Politics Takes a Holiday" radio specials.
