The Summer Hummer, DC theatre's most revealing variety show, plays a benefit performance at Signature Theatre for Taking Care of Our Own, which helps Washington theatre professionals with emergency needs, on Monday, August 20 at 7 p.m.
Like nothing else you've seen on Washington stages, this one-night only burlesque variety show features a cast of some of Washington's favorite performers raising the roof with the risky and risqué.
The Washington Theatre Community is joining forces to present the first annual Summer Hummer as a benefit for Taking Care of Our Own, a program of theatreWashington.
Directed by Signature's Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer and Associate Artistic Director Matthew Gardiner, Summer Hummer features the talents of Sandy Bainum, Lauren Byrne, Evan Casey, Carolyn Cole, Matthew Conner, Matthew DeLorenzo, James Gardiner, Karlah Hamilton, Helen Hedman, Donna Migliaccio, Chris Mueller, Tracey Lynn Olivera, Nova Payton, Bobby Smith, Stephen Gregory Smith, Holly Twyford, Rachel Zampelli and, in a special appearance, Diva Vicky Vox—plus more to be announced!
The show features musical direction by Jenny Cartney and Gabe Mangiante, lighting design by Colin K. Bills, and sound design by Matt Rowe.
Summer Hummer is intended for audiences 18 years and older.
