A group of local, regional, and state talent will come together at ShenanArt's Stage4 Theatre on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 3:30pm to perform a benefit concert for a local youth who is suffering from a rare form of cancer. 5-year-old, Hayley Kudro was diagnosed with Stage 3 High Risk Neuroblastoma on October 6, 2009. Neuroblastoma is a malignant tumor that develops from nerve tissue. Stars from Virginia Dreams CenterStage, The Virginia Junior Opry, and from other areas of the state will join forces to make this event a great evening of entertainment for a worthy cause. All proceeds will go towards The Hayley Kudro Cancer Fund.
Lisa and Robby Meadows, Tim Spears, and the rest of the Stars of Virginia Dreams CenterStage, and gospel bluegrass artists The Church Sisters will headline the show. They will be joined by,
Andrea Saunders, Emily Henline, Samantha Allen, Gwynne Wood and local bluegrass group, Heartland.
Virginia Dreams CenterStage is a weekly TV show, broadcast on WHSV-TV3 out of Harrisonburg, VA. The program stars the Meadows, Spears, and a cast of local singers and musicians. It features other local, regional, and national artists in a concert style format.
The Church Sisters are 13-year-old twins from Danville, VA. They have been making a big splash in the world of bluegrass gospel music. They have performed with such bluegrass artist as The Isaacs and
Rhonda Vincent. "These girls will blow your socks off! Their vocals and harmonies are well beyond their years. Don't let the idea that they are only thirteen fool you. They are as good of entertainers as you will find anywhere." the show's producer, Jeff McDaniel states.
As mentioned, the show will be held at Stage4 Theatre in Verona, VA. "My family at ShenanArts came through!" McDaniel says. "I put in a call to Mike Conner and the folks at ShenanArts and asked if I could use the theatre. They agreed to donate the space for Hayley. I continue to be blown away by the kindness." McDaniel adds.
Tickets for the event will be $15 reserved $10 general admission. Ticket sales will begin Friday, February 19. Advanced tickets can be purchased by calling 540-248-1868.
