STROyKA Theatre Presents CHESS September 18 through 27

STROyKA Theatre will present the Chess, the popular musical by Tim Rice, Benny Andersson, Bjorn Ulveaus and Richard Nelson. The production will perform September 18 through 27.

The cast of Chess features Christopher Furry, Josh Canary, Jennifer Gusso, Walter Gottleib, and David Deal. The production is directed by Roman S. Gusso.

Performances of Chess will be at Stroyka's new home: The Burke Theater at The Heritage Center. The Heritage Center is located at 701 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20004. Chess will play the following performance schedule:
September 18, 19, 25, 26, 2009 @ 8:00PM
September 20 & 27, 2009 @ 2:00PM
September 20, 2009 @ 7:00PM

$25 General Admission
$20 Students & Senior Citizens
$15 Active & Retired United States Military Personnel & Groups of 10 or More

Stroyka Organizational Goals:

* To produce three productions (including at least one musical) per theatre season (calendar year), which exemplify the STROyKA commitment to risk-tasking and innovation in casting, play selection, and direction.
* To continue to build a core repertory group of performers and technical professionals.
* To fulfill the needs of theatergoers inside Washington DC and the surrounding Metro area by offering professional-quality theater at an affordable cost.
* To encourage audience members to think and feel about the human experience in new and different ways.
* To develop and implement an educational program that exposes young people to all that the craft of theatre has to offer.
* To produce at least one outreach project each season that engages members of the Montgomery County community as both performers and audience members in order to bring innovative theatre to the broader Metro area.
