Round House Theatre continues its 2013/14 Bethesda season with Pulitzer Prize winner August Wilson's Two Trains Running, which runs today, April 2 thru 27. Timothy Douglas returns to Round House to direct this inspiring, humorous, and potent portrait of ordinary people at a turning point in American history. Opening night is Monday, April 7, 2014.

The seventh play in August Wilson's acclaimed "Century Cycle," Two Trains Running tells the story of African-American life in the 1960s. It's 1969 and change is in the air. But for Memphis, the owner of a rundown diner in a dying Pittsburgh neighborhood, the civil rights movement may just be an impractical dream. Torn between whether to gamble on an urban-renewal buyout or sell his building to a predatory businessman, he finds himself caught between idealism and brutal reality.

The New York Times hailed Two Trains Running's "glorious storytelling," calling it "touching and often funny...penetrating." The Los Angeles Times called the play, "gorgeous, funny, and savage." USA Today saluted August Wilson as "one of the world's most celebrated playwrights."

Tickets range in price from $10 to $45 and may be purchased by calling 240.644.1100, by ordering online at http://www.roundhousetheatre.or>, or at Round House's box office in Bethesda. Round House Theatre Bethesda is located at 4545 East-West Highway, one block from Wisconsin Avenue and the Bethesda station on Metro's Red Line.
